We are legal sector search and recruitment specialists focusing on primarily on partner, director and senior management level appointments. These are the people who will help drive your business forward and help ensure its success.

We invest time to understand your business, your people and your ambitions. Our aim to identify and introduce candidates that fit in with your culture and will be able to succeed. We are not interested in ramming a square peg into a round hole. 
To find the right people we will use a variety of tools as appropriate: making targeted approaches to people within our wide network, thereby often reaching people who are not actively looking for a new role, thoroughly researched and discreetly carried out ‘headhunting’, the use of social media and if appropriate either branded or anonymous recruitment advertising.
Additionally, we have access to sophisticated behavioural profiling tools which can support the recruitment process and once in place we can provide ongoing coaching, mentoring or critical friend   support for lateral hires and new appointees.
Candidates
From time to time, we can assist individuals in finding new roles. We will work with the candidate to  identify suitable opportunities, assess client followings and advise on business plans, and make decreet approaches to key decisions makers at target firms agreed with the candidate.

LAW FIRM mergers 
We advise law firms at every stage of the merger process, helping them develop and implement a structured approach.   Where required we help our clients review their options and will identify potentially suitable merger candidates for them. Then we work alongside our clients as their strategic advisor from initial discussions, through the agreement of terms and the development of the merger integration plans.  

We know that merger discussions take up senior management and leadership time and therefore are expensive and can be disruptive. And without good integration most mergers fail to create their hoped-for value.

That is why we have developed our four-part Merger & Acquisition Process to help firms at every stage of the way. That process is based on our experience of advising law firms of all shapes and sizes and in various situations in over 25 merger projects. It's a process that is tried and tested.

Understanding the client and reviewing options
We begin by listening to you so that we fully understand your business, your culture & values, the personalities and your objectives. Our aim is always to get under the skin of your firm but at the same time review and in necessary challenge your strategy. And we have a number of tools that we can use to understand your strengths, weakness, how others see you, assess your readiness for a merger or acquisition and identify any barriers to success.

Finding the right targets
Having invested time to understand the firm, we apply our experience in a search for suitable targets. We research the market, and look at our own database, to identify firms that may be a good fit. We discuss our findings with you and agree a shortlist of those that we discreetly approach. Alternatively, we can assist a firm in considering an approach they have received from a potential suitor. 

Focus on the process
We are not simply a broker who exits once an introduction is made. We stay involved throughout the process to facilitate meetings and the exchange of information, maintaining momentum, and ensuring that each firm keeps the discussions high up on their agenda, identifying and dealing with potential deal breakers, advising on the merits of offers and proposals, and always reviewing options. We can help with internal discussions and achieving stakeholder buy in.  Ultimately mergers are about putting two groups of people together and we can help assess whether there will be a cultural fit between the two firms. 

Achieving results
Creating value through a merger depends entirely on how well the two business integrate. This process starts before terms are agreed and requires clear internal and external communication with all stakeholders. We work with you to develop a project plan setting out the timeline for due diligence as well as the timetable for matters requiring action prior to completion. Post-merger we can stay involved to help manage change using various processes to support people as they assimilate new working practices and deliver better services to their clients.

UK plc is heavily reliant on its services sector and yet productivity remains stubbornly static. Changes in regulation and improving technology, as well as pressure from clients, means that businesses in this sector feel like they have to run just to stand still. For law firms in particular the promised massive change in the profession has been elusive, even as cost cutting and investment in IT have delivered some improvement in profitability. We have a range of services on offer for professional service firms from individual coaching for partners and aspiring associates through strategy planning and business building through to mergers and acquisitions. We also offer retained search and executive selection to help firms acquire the professional and managerial talent that is vital for their development.

Construction and Built Environment ​

Construction has traditionally been thought of as a sector resistant to change but no more. New technologies, skills shortages and large scale infrastructure projects requiring new ways of working have changed all that. Collaborative working and increased use of BIM, as well as behavioural assessments in public sector tenders have started to affect the way teams and JVs work, so companies are looking for ways to create ever higher performance. Together with our great friends The Bid Coach, we prepare Tier 1 teams for the Behavioural Assessment Centres involved in major infrastructure bids and are proud of our enviable record of success that is fast becoming our clients' secret weapon.

We also provide ​collaborative working workshops that change the way people behave and an empowering workshop for professional women in engineering and construction.

In the built environment, we work with Housing Associations and housing developers to create new solutions to old problems - new ways of working to provide new homes. We offer individual or team coaching as well as Board days and strategy sessions. 

Health and Care

It is becoming increasingly apparent that the system we have cannot cope with the demands of an ageing population. We work with health and other care providers who want to explore new ways of working and who have a desire to make lasting changes that increase capacity and resilience in the provision of services to the people in their area. We provide Board support, training for Boards and strategy sessions as well as culture, leadership and management due diligence in merging organisations.

Sustainability

We can no longer ignore the fact that climate change is happening right now. Our belief is that community resilience is at the heart of the solution and so we invest our own time in supporting these projects. We are also supporting local businesses and third sector organisations through our Sustainable Growth programme - the sister programme to our "Profitable Growth" programme above but designed for businesses in the sustainable sector.
